Lohagarh Fort, or the “Iron Fort,” is an 18th-century marvel in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, built by the ingenious Jat ruler Maharaja Suraj Mal. Unlike the ornate palaces of its time, this stronghold was built for one purpose: impregnability. Its unique defense system – comprising a deep, water-filled moat and thick mud walls that absorbed cannonballs – earned it the reputation of being unconquerable.
