The Gangaur Festival is one of the most vibrant and culturally significant celebrations in Rajasthan reaching its colorful zenith in Jaipur. Dedicated to Goddess Gauri a manifestation of Goddess Parvati, the festival honors marital bliss, fidelity, and the arrival of the spring harvest. Spanning 18 days, beginning the day after Holi, Gangaur is celebrated primarily by women who fast and worship the divine couple, Lord Shiva (Gan) and Goddess Parvati (Gaur). The highlight of the festival in the Pink City is the centuries-old Gangaur Ki Sawari (Procession), a royal spectacle of immense cultural richness that transforms the historic streets into a mesmerizing display of Rajasthani heritage.
