The Pass of Valor and Sacrifice
Haldighati Darra or the Haldighati Pass is a legendary mountain pass in the Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan. Its name, which means “Valley of Turmeric,” is derived from the unique yellowish color of its soil, which locals say is a constant reminder of the blood spilled during the epic Battle of Haldighati in 1576. This historical battle saw Maharana Pratap of Mewar valiantly fight against the massive army of the Mughal Emperor Akbar led by Man Singh I. Today, the pass stands as a powerful symbol of Rajput valor and a hallowed ground that whispers tales of courage and sacrifice attracting pilgrims and history enthusiasts from all over the world.
