Jaigarh Fort perched majestically on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravalli range in Jaipur is a formidable military structure renowned for its robust defense system and as the location of the world’s largest cannon on wheels, the Jaivana. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1726, the fort was strategically designed to protect the nearby Amber Fort and the royal treasury. Its rugged red sandstone walls blend seamlessly with the surrounding hills making it a perfect example of defensive Rajput military architecture. The fort’s unique status is that it was never captured earning it the moniker “Victory Fort” and it is famously linked to hidden treasures and secret passages.
