About Vidhyadhar Garden, Jaipur

A Tribute to the Visionary Architect of Jaipur

Vidyadhar Garden, also known as Vidyadhar Ka Bagh is one of Jaipur’s most beautifully maintained tiered gardens strategically nestled in the valley near Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh. Built in the late 20th century (1988) as a tribute to Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, the Bengali architect and city planner who conceptualized the grid layout of the ‘Pink City’ in the 18th century the garden serves as a living monument to his Vastu and Shilpa Shastra-based urban planning. Its design is a serene blend of traditional Hindu and Mughal garden styles featuring terraced lawns, tranquil lakes, splashing fountains, and ornate pavilions adorned with vibrant frescoes creating a tranquil oasis that perfectly reflects the city’s architectural ethos.
